Technically, I finished this with two minutes to spare, but then had to upload it which takes quite a bit of time. First Inktober that I'm not on theme 'cause my brain decided to be "hidden" today.

International Cardisty Open (ICO) deck

I’ve been working on a playing card project that I’ve been keeping secret about for awhile now. I asked by Kardify to help design a deck of playing cards to help commemorate the International Cardistry Open (ICO). It as an interesting project to design a deck that cardist would like and want to use. More information about its release will be available, but for now here’s an article on Kardify talking about the deck. Pictures are courtesy of Anthony Ingrassia, who can make any deck of cards look amazing. A big thank you to Expert Playing Card Co (EPCC), Kardify, Anthony Ingrassia and Ivan Choe for asking me to be a part of such a wonderful project.

Dynasty Playing Cards (finished!)

I've been busy lately wrapping up my Kickstarter campaign. It's gone by pretty well and I just finished the fulfilment part. I'm excited for people to finally get what they pledged for and for me to get the remainder of my stock. It's one of the disadvantage of not fulfilling it myself is that I've got to get my own product. The photos are courtesy of my friend, and amazing photographer, Anthony Ingrassia . Random Sketches (VII)

Animated me

I think it's funny that I've never played with animated GIFs before in all the years I've worked with Photoshop and Illustrator. It's so weird, but here they are. I went the old school method of having a very rough sketch, reprinting it a few times and then drawing over it with ink. It makes the animation a little imperfect as I'm not using a light table to ensure that they line up perfectly, but I'm enjoying it that way. I'm going to try to do more of these from now on.

I think my old life drawing prof would be upset at me for not thinking of space and placement before drawing as there's a lot of things here that run to the edge and aren't finished. I do that a lot so apparently I never learned that lesson too well ...

I'm feeling really nostalgic lately about Dragon Ball lately so it's been fun drawing some of that. It's also very odd drawing in a sketchbook again as I'm so much to drawing on loose paper though I guess I could technically just take out each page from the sketchbook ....

Dynasty Playing Card is now live on Kickstarter!

I've been keeping this project tightly under wrap until launch, but it's finally here. My first solo crowdfunding project has launched today on Kickstarter. It's available here ! Please check it.

This is my 3rd set of playing cards I've designed and illustrated. Where my previous deck was based upon and pay homage for the Bee deck, the Dynasty deck draws upon my culture and background. We're so use to always seeing European style Kings and Queens on the cards that I've always wanted to see one with Asian style figures instead. I decided to go about it and create my own version of it.
