I haven't done as much finished work lately, but I've been doing a lot of inked illustration for fun. I think I'm slowly getting better and better with how I ink my illustrations, particularly the witch sketch in the middle. Now I've got to find a way to transfer that drawing onto a decent stock of watercolour paper to try some stuff out on it. I should stop doing these ink sketches on scrap paper I have lying around.

So the Vancouver Winter Olympics are happening at the moment so I thought to do something Olympic inspired and I thought it'd be way more fun to include kids. One of the problems I had was that all winter Olympic sports is very heavily equipment based like snowboards, skis, etc so I tried to work around that and a cardboard box is like the ultimate swiss ultility anything for a kid hence why it's a bobsleigh in this instance instead of a helmet like I normally like to use it as. I should be done these spots, hopefully, before the Olympics are finished so I'm sort not sure when it's over now that I think about it.

So work on this is going a bit slow. Sometimes, it's so much more fun to design and create ideas than it is to finish a piece of illustration, but I will get this done by Valentine's Day even if I have to find some web illustration monkey to get the job done.

I thought it'd be cool to show a blend through the stages of the illustration. I do go through minor and major adjustments as I work on my illustrations including just slight shifts or changing something flat to something a bit more rounded. Other times there are big changes like moving the head around or even shrinking the figure down to fit it in the illustration better. There's, honestly, a lot of fine tuning to get it right.
